Standing with Linked Arms is NOT taking a knee

Let’s be real clear. I’m going to shout this from the rooftops with a Megaphone..STANDING UP WITH YOUR ARMS LINKED IS NOT TAKING A KNEE!

Speaking about a general concept of unity is NOT the same as protesting racial inequality and injustice in America. But nice try to some NFL players who tried it and thought they fooled someone into thinking they’re standing for the same thing Colin Kaepernick kneeled for. I’m looking right at you Tom Brady

While I was extremely proud to see the NFL take a stand for SOMETHING after obviously blackballing Colin Kaepernick, the organization only takes issue with being bullied by Donald Trump into firing employees who dare to exercise the first amendment. Trump’s behavior is no different than anything he’s done since before he was officially in office, the only difference is that he called out the NFL specifically. Cue the outrage.

To see Ray Lewis’ fake ass take not one but both knees on Sunday was just ridiculous. This is the same man partly responsible for Kaep not getting signed to the Ravens and spoke out vehemently against his protests.

This is not to take away from the other players who I believe did do it for the right reasons. There were some who finally hit their wall with Trump’s bullshit and decided to take a knee at all costs AND did it for the right reasons.

They openly acknowledged that it was to protest racial injustice and said they stood firmly with Colin Kaepernick. To those players, I salute you. Better late than never.

For the rest, who want to stand and link arms and feel like they actually accomplished something other than add to the general notion of Can’t we all just get along?, do us all a favor and just stand there with your hand on your heart being a good little boy making it clear where you stand.

You’re either for this movement or against it. You either acknowledge that black lives are in danger or you don’t. You either recognize that this country is not perfect and has a long way to go to recognizing that minorities are not treated fairly or you don’t.

You can’t straddle the lines with this issue…or in this case link arms.
